Getting Involved in FIRST LEGO League Challenge
The most common question we get is, "How do I get my child involved in FIRST LEGO League Challenge?" This question is complicated to answer. FIRST LEGO League Challenge is not an intermittent activity for individual students. FIRST LEGO League Challenge operates on an annual schedule (each season starts in August) with students competing in teams of 2-10 led by two adult coaches. Teams meet regularly throughout the season, leading to official tournaments in the late fall and winter.
Existing teams are often affiliated with a school and/or some type of community activity (4-H, scouting, church, family, neighborhood). If you are not already aware of an existing team, it can be difficult to find one to join. We are not allowed to give out coaches' contact information. Instead, our most common recommendation is to find a few friends and try to start your own team. We are here to help with that.
